| Sandwich is one of the most historic towns in the country, it is one of the Cinque Ports and has many fine examples of medieval buildings. The street plan has changed little since Domesday. Sandwich and the surrounding villages provide a host of good inns and restaurants serving excellent food at prices to suit all. |

| The city of Canterbury has it's Cathederal, Heritage Museum, The Canterbury Tales plus many other ancient buildings. It has many excellent shops and the Marlow Theatre. |

| The Roman ruins of Richborough Castle is very close to Honey Pot Cottage as are the magnificent castles at Dover and Walmer which is the Queen Mothers official residence as Lord Warden of The Cinque ports. |

| There are two beautiful gardens to visit at Walmer Castle and at Goodnestone Park, home of Lord and Lady Fitzwalter. Just 15 minutes drive away is John Aspinall's world famous Howletts Wild Animal Park. Even closer is Wingham Bird Park. |

| Golf is a very popular sport locally with three Championship Courses - Royal St Georges and Princes Golf Club in Sandwich Bay, plus Royal cinque ports Golf Club at Deal. There are several other very good courses within 30 minutes drive. |

quickly by use of the Channel Tunnel at Folkestone or the Car Ferrries at
